Services & Descriptions for Workshops and Coaching

Activity Description
Workshops Worshops are designed to provide explicit instruction and practice for small or large groups. Typically, the workshop will provide an overview of a teaching method or curriculum, with some practice.
On-Site Coaching Onsite coaching includes classroom observation, modeling, prompting, guidance, and feedback on skills taught in a workshop. At least 80% of coached teachers become fluent in their classroom applications of workshop skills, compared to less than 50% of teachers who attend only a workshop.
Video or Electronic Coaching Teachers submit videotapes of their implementation of specific techniques and members of the Morningside team overwrite suggestions on the tape for improvements in implementation. Members of the Morningside staff also can observe classes electronically, from their Seattle base, with desktop conferencing.
Online Troubleshooting Teachers submit implementation questions online. via electronic mail or the web, for comment by members of the Morningside team.
Travel and lodging Time spent traveling from the consultant's location to the training/coaching location. Time is charged if the total travel time exceeds 1 hour in any day. Travel time costs can be reduced in a number of ways, including combining workshop and coaching time, cooperative requests for service from several schools or districts in the same geographic area, etc. Please suggest creative options.
